Key Policies

Check-In Time

Passengers are required to check in at least two hours before departure. Boarding gates close 30 minutes before departure. Failure to check in on time may result in denied boarding. It is recommended to arrive at the terminal at least one hour before the scheduled sailing time.

ID Requirements

Passengers must present a valid ID upon check-in. Accepted IDs include government-issued IDs, company IDs, and properly validated student IDs.
Senior citizens availing of discounts must present their OSCA ID.

Baggage (Allowance, Excess, Unclaimed)

Passengers in 2nd class and tourist accommodations are allowed two pieces of baggage with a combined size of up to 0.05 cubic meters or 100 kilograms.
Private room and cabin passengers may bring double the quantity, but the size limit remains the same. Excess baggage will be treated as cargo and charged accordingly.

Refunds and Rebooking

Rebooking or refunds are allowed within 60 days of the departure date, subject to applicable surcharges.

Tickets are valid only for the specified voyage.

Pets

If there is an accompanying passenger, there is a fixed fee which is around Php 300 to 500 per pet. The pet dog / cat must be placed in a cage. The pet will be endorsed to the Hotel Officer and will be placed in a secure area as we do not allow pets to be in enclosed air conditioned rooms.

If there is no accompanying passenger, a waybill can be secured at our office and the pet will be endorsed as a cargo. The fee ranges from Php 960 to Php 1,550; depending on the port link.

A permit to transport is required and this can be secured at your local Bureau of Animal Industry.

Pregnancy

Pregnancy passengers must present a medical certificate attesting to the passenger’s fitness for sea travel and must sign a waiver upon check-in.

  • Below 28 weeks : Medical Certificate should be issued at least one day prior the departure date and must clearly state the departure date.
  • 29 weeks and beyond : shall not be accepted to travel.

The passenger confirms the authenticity of the medical certificate and the accuracy of its contents. Trans-Asia Shipping Lines,Inc. reserves the right to deny check-in and shall not be held liable for any issues arising from misrepresentation in the submission and/or contents of the medical certificate.

Unaccompanied Minors

12 YEARS OLD BELOW

Children who are 12 years old and below are not allowed to travel alone. Here are the documentary requirements which need to be shown upon check-in:

  • a. Valid Ticket.
  • b. Original valid ID or Birth Certificate of the child passenger.

12 and13 YEARS OLD

Children who are 12 and 13 years old may travel alone subject to compliance of the following documentary requirements which need to be shown upon check-in:

  • Valid Ticket.
  • Original valid ID or Birth Certificate of the child passenger.
  • Duly accomplished Parent/Guardian Consent Form for Unaccompanied Minor.
  • Copy of valid ID with signature of the minor’s parent and/or authorized guardian

14 YEARS OLD AND ABOVE

Children who are 14 years old and above are allowed to travel alone. Here are the documentary requirements which need to be shown upon check-in:

  • Valid Ticket.
  • Original valid ID or Birth Certificate of the child passenger.

 

Sick Passengers

1. The doctor or nurse must present his or her active or valid license issued by the Philippine Regulatory Commission.
2. The medical certificate must be issued 3 days from the date of departure, stating the words “Fit to travel by boat”.
3. Passengers with attachments such as oxygen,  IV, and heparin IV locking devices, etc., must bring their necessary medical equipment and medical supplied, including medicines intended for 2 days.
4. Passengers who cannot comply with the list of requirements for sick passengers are not allowed to board the vessel.
5. The requirements must be presented during check-in at the terminal and when they board the vessel.
6. Passengers still need to pay for terminal fee at passenger check-in terminal. Amount of terminal fee may vary depending on port location.
