Montenegro Shipping Lines joins MARINA Lakbay Alalay program

BATANGAS CITY, Philippines — In a significant move to make sea travel more affordable for the Filipino public, Montenegro Shipping Lines, Inc. (MSLI) officially signed a Service Contract Agreement (SCA) under the MARINA Lakbay Alalay ng Gobyerno Program on April 29, 2029.
The signing ceremony, held at the MARINA Regional Office IV, marks a pivotal collaboration between the private sector and the government to enhance maritime transport accessibility across the archipelago. The initiative is part of the broader MARINA LAYAG campaign, which aims to provide fare subsidies and improve the reliability and efficiency of domestic shipping services.
Strengthening Maritime Connectivity
The Lakbay Alalay program, spearheaded by the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) in partnership with the Department of Transportation (DOTr), is designed to ease travel costs for passengers while ensuring high standards of safety. By providing subsidies, the government hopes to foster a more inclusive transport system that supports national development and strengthens connectivity between the islands.
