The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) has officially diverted the operations of the MV 2GO Masinag to the Port Management Office (PMO) Davao to ensure the continuity of passenger and cargo services in Southern Mindanao. The move comes as a response to the temporary suspension of activities at the Port of General Santos, which was impacted by a recent earthquake.

The vessel successfully docked at the Port of Sasa in Davao City on June 12, 2026. By shifting operations to Davao, the PPA aims to minimize disruptions to the regional supply chain and provide a safe alternative for travelers affected by the calamity.

Intermodal Transport Support for Passengers

To assist passengers in reaching their final destinations, the PPA has deployed a free shuttle bus service. In coordination with the Yellow Bus Line (YBL), air-conditioned executive buses are providing non-stop transportation for individuals boarding and disembarking the vessel. These “Special Trip” units are specifically tasked with bridging the gap between Davao and General Santos.

Logistical operations for cargo are also being handled through dedicated trucking arrangements to ensure that essential goods continue to flow into the region. Port personnel, in conjunction with local police units, are managing the traffic and security within the port quay to maintain order during the transition.

Operational Coordination and Safety

PMO Davao is actively collaborating with shipping lines and relevant government agencies to maintain efficient service standards. The PPA remains committed to providing safe and reliable maritime transport hubs, even in the face of natural disasters.

  • Primary Vessel: MV 2GO Masinag
  • Operational Hub: Port of Sasa, Davao City
  • Shuttle Provider: Yellow Bus Line (YBL)
  • Effective Date: June 12, 2026

Passengers and clients are encouraged to monitor the official Philippine Ports Authority social media channels and website for further updates regarding the resumption of normal operations at the Port of General Santos.
