FastCat launches Maasin to Surigao Route with maiden voyage on February 15

The newest route of FastCat, connecting Maasin City and Surigao City, has been officially launched, and its maiden voyage is set for February 15, 2026. As part of the new route, the M/V FastCat M17 is now deployed in Maasin Port, Southern Leyte.

The news was confirmed after several days of online teasers announcing a new destination. It was confirmed that ticket sales for the new route are now available.

The new route is seen to enhance the link between Southern Leyte and Surigao del Norte. It is also seen to provide a new alternative for tourists and locals who want to travel within Eastern Visayas and Mindanao.

FastCat released the following regular sailing schedule:

From Maasin Port

  • 6:00 AM
  • 6:00 PM

From Surigao Base Port

  • 1:00 AM
  • 1:00 PM

The estimated travel time between Maasin and Surigao is approximately four hours. Passengers are advised to arrive at the port at least one hour before departure for ticket validation and boarding procedures.

FastCat also announced the following ticket rates:

  • Economy – ₱580
  • Premium Economy – ₱640
  • Business Class – ₱700

The fare may vary depending on the fees and port charges. The public is advised to check the final fare through authorized booking channels.
