FastCat resumes Dumangas–Banago trips after maintenance works

FastCat has officially announced the resumption of its Dumangas-Banago ferry services after the completion of the scheduled maintenance works. The company confirmed that the resumption of ferry services from Dumangas, Iloilo to Banago, Bacolod City will start on February 26, 2026.
The temporary suspension of ferry services started earlier this week to facilitate the necessary maintenance of the route. According to FastCat, the maintenance of the route is part of their continuous efforts to provide safe and efficient ferry services.
In its advisory, FastCat announced that the scheduled works have already been finished. With this, passengers can now book and ride the Dumangas-Banago (vice versa) route starting February 26.
The company thanked the passengers for their patience and understanding regarding the temporary suspension of their services. FastCat clarified that the maintenance of their services is a crucial part of ensuring that their passengers can enjoy convenient sea travel.
The Dumangas-Banago route is among the major sea routes connecting Iloilo and Negros Occidental. Most commuters use this route to go to their offices, schools, and to visit their families. The route also assists in the movement of goods from one province to another.
Since the route is very important, even a short stoppage of the route can affect the travel plans of the commuters. Now that the route is operating normally, the commuters can expect daily trips between the two ports.
Passengers who are planning to take the Dumangas-Banago route are advised to check the latest schedule posted on FastCat’s official accounts before proceeding to the port. This will help avoid confusion, especially within the first few days of operation. Passengers are also advised to arrive at the terminal at least two to three hours prior to departure to allow time for the standard pre-boarding procedures such as ticket verification and baggage screening.
Travelers whose schedules were disrupted during the temporary suspension can contact authorized ticketing outlets for re-routing or other available alternatives. Employees of the ticketing offices can help travelers with concerns about previously confirmed bookings.
FastCat also clarified that maintenance work is a normal and essential part of ferry services. Regular maintenance and check-ups help ensure that the ferry remains seaworthy and that facilities remain safe for public use. According to FastCat, these activities are intended to maintain reliable ferry services while ensuring passenger safety.
With the Dumangas-Banago trips resuming on schedule, sea travel between Iloilo and Bacolod is now more accessible than ever. Travelers who regularly take the Dumangas-Banago route can now resume their usual travel schedules.
