Starlite Ferries issues updated guidelines for passengers traveling with pets

Starlite Ferries Inc. has officially released its updated pet policy, urging passengers to strictly adhere to guidelines designed to ensure the safety and comfort of both animals and travelers. The ferry operator, a Chelsea Company, underscored that proper declaration of pets is vital for the provision of necessary assistance and monitoring during the voyage.

Mandatory travel requirements for pets

Passengers planning to bring their pets on board must prepare specific documentation and equipment before departure. According to the advisory, the following requirements must be met:

  • Pet Fare: A fee of Php 500 to Php 700 per pet applies.
  • Permit to Travel: Documentation must be obtained from the Bureau of Quarantine. Passengers are required to bring the animal’s Vaccine Record.
  • Pet Cage: Owners must provide a suitable cage for their pets.
  • Veterinary Certificate: A valid Certificate to Travel issued by a licensed veterinarian is mandatory.

Onboard safety and restrictions

To maintain order and hygiene on board, Starlite Ferries has designated specific monitoring areas where pets will be cared for during transit. However, a strict disclaimer was issued stating that pets are not allowed inside the passenger accommodation areas.

Travelers are encouraged to declare their pets during the booking process to ensure the ferry crew can take necessary precautions for a safe journey. For bookings and further inquiries, passengers may visit chelseatravel.ph or contact the company at (02) 7709 0289.
