Island Water announces temporary trip suspensions for February 24

Island Water has announced the cancellation of ferry trips scheduled for February 24, 2026, for two of its major routes: Puerto Galera-Batangas and Abra de Ilog-Batangas. The cancellation of ferry trips was announced because of preventive maintenance. This is part of the company’s commitment to the safety of its passengers.

For the Batangas to Puerto Galera route, the affected vessel M/V Island Calayan (Fastcraft), the following trips were cancelled:

• Balatero Port (Puerto Galera) – 1:45 PM
• Batangas Port – 3:30 PM

For the Abra de Ilog to Batangas route, the M/V Isla Simara (RORO), the following trips have been cancelled:

• Abra de Ilog Port – 12:30 PM
• Batangas Port – 4:30 PM

However, Island Water announced that the operation of M/V Isla Simara will continue later that day, with a scheduled departure from Abra de Ilog Port at 8:30 PM on February 24, 2026.

The company said that preventive maintenance is an ongoing process that is necessary to ensure the vessels are operating in a safe manner. Although cancellations can be a nuisance, Island Water said that safety is its top concern.

Passengers who have confirmed bookings for the cancelled trips are free to either reschedule for the next available trip or opt for a refund. Passengers can go ahead and contact the ticketing counters of Island Water or call their customer service. Online customers are advised to send an email to the customer service department with their booking number, while those who bought tickets from agents can communicate with them.

Island Water Company has apologized for the inconvenience caused to passengers and thanked them for their understanding.
