Provincial Bus Fares Rise as LTFRB Approves Provisional Increase

Effective March 14, 2026, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has implemented a provisional fare increase across all provincial public utility buses. This adjustment was approved to help transport operators cope with the continuing volatility of global fuel prices.
The New Fare Breakdown
The approved fare adjustments vary based on the bus classification:
- Ordinary Provincial Buses: * +₱1.00 increase to the base fare.
- +₱0.30 for every succeeding kilometer.
- Air-Conditioned, Deluxe, & Super Deluxe Buses: * +₱0.35 per kilometer.
- Luxury Buses: * +₱0.45 per kilometer.
Passenger Guidelines & Compliance
While commuters at major hubs like the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) are already experiencing these rate changes, the LTFRB strictly mandates that no fare increase may be collected unless an official, updated Fare Matrix is prominently displayed inside the bus.
Bus operators are currently rolling out their updated, route-specific fare tables. Passengers are encouraged to verify exact ticket prices via their chosen bus line’s official social media pages or ticketing booths before traveling.
Note: Any instances of overcharging without a visible fare matrix should be reported directly to the LTFRB.
