Island Water has recently announced that it will allow pets on board its ships, as long as the passengers follow the travel guidelines set by the company. This move is aimed at making sea travel more accessible while still ensuring that there is order on board.
In its latest advisory, the shipping company reminded pet owners that all necessary documents should be accomplished before arriving at the port. This is to ensure that there are no delays in the check-in process.
Passengers who are planning to bring their dogs or other pets along with them on board are advised to check the requirements in advance to avoid any delays on the day of departure.
Passengers bringing pets must present the following:
- A valid Pet Health Certificate
- A Shipping Permit from the Bureau of Animal Industry
- The pet must be secured in a leash or carrier
Island Water stressed that these papers must be prepared prior to arrival at the port. Incomplete requirements may cause delays in boarding or may not allow the pet to board the ship.
The health certificates are evidence that the pet is in good health to travel. On the other hand, the shipping permit is an assurance that the pet meets the national requirements for the transportation of animals. It is also important to keep pets on a leash or in a carrier to maintain order and safety on board.
Island Water Ferry encourages advance booking through their official website at www.islandwater.ph or through their official Facebook page. By advance booking, passengers can choose their desired time of departure and will not have to wait in long lines at the port on the day of departure.
Passengers are also encouraged to arrive early on the day of departure. This will give them ample time to process their requirements and check-in.
By following these requirements, passengers can have a hassle-free trip with their pets. Island Water is still promoting responsible travel while making sea travel more accessible to families and their pets.
