Travelers passing through Cebu’s maritime gateways can expect a more seamless boarding experience as the Cebu Port Authority (CPA) officially suspends the collection of terminal fees across all its passenger terminal buildings starting April 18, 2026.

In an official advisory released on April 17, 2026, the CPA announced that the “Libre Terminal Fee” initiative aims to eliminate payment queues, allowing passengers to proceed directly to the boarding areas. However, the authority clarified that while the fee is waived, security protocols remain in place. All passengers are still required to present a valid ID and a ticket upon entry to the terminal premises.

Coverage and Duration

The suspension of fees is a temporary measure that will be in effect for exactly two months. The waiver begins tomorrow, April 18, 2026, and is scheduled to conclude on June 17, 2026.

The policy applies to all CPA-owned and operated passenger terminals, covering major hubs and feeder ports alike:

  • Pier 1 Passenger Terminal
  • Pier 3 Passenger Terminal
  • Pier 3 Metro Ferry Terminal
  • Muelle Osmeña Ferry Terminal
  • Danao Port
  • Maya Port
  • Taloot Port
  • Tangil Port
  • Punta Engaño Port
  • Sta. Rosa Port
  • Poro Port

Streamlining Port Operations

This move is expected to significantly reduce congestion during peak travel hours, particularly in high-traffic areas like Pier 1 and Pier 3. By removing the payment step, the CPA hopes to improve the overall passenger flow and provide financial relief to commuters and tourists during the mid-year travel season.

Passengers are encouraged to arrive at the ports with their documents ready to ensure a swift inspection process. For further updates, travelers may visit the official Cebu Port Authority website or their official social media channels.
