Lite Ferries to open Batangas Ticketing Office, eyes Batangas–Caticlan route

Lite Shipping Corporation, commonly known as Lite Ferries, is also expected to expand its services to Batangas Port with the opening of its new ticketing office within the Batangas Port Terminal. This development is an indication that the company is also planning to strengthen its presence along the Western Nautical Highway to cater to more passengers traveling between Luzon and the Visayas.

Lite Ferries is a shipping company based in Bohol, and it has been operating routes within the Visayas and Mindanao for a long time. With the opening of its Batangas ticketing office, the shipping company is also preparing to enter one of the busiest ports in the country. Batangas Port is one of the busiest ports in the country and is a primary gateway for passengers bound for Mindoro, Romblon, and Caticlan.

Based on initial reports, Lite Ferries is also expected to operate a Batangas-Caticlan route and vice versa in the first half of 2026. The construction of the Caticlan ticketing office is also ongoing, which is an indication that both ports are being readied for the new service. Regarding the ship that will operate on the route, the company has yet to make a final announcement. There are talks that Lite Ferries might use M/V Lite Ferry 18, which is currently undergoing emergency dry dock at Batangas Shipyard Corporation, or might use its new brand ship, M/V Lite Ferry Twenty, which is expected to arrive around the same time.

The entry of Lite Ferries in Batangas Port could bring about more competition for passengers. More competition will result in better services and flexible schedules for passengers.
