Island Water announces fare rollback for Batangas-Puerto Galera route under MARINA LAYAG program

Travelers heading to the popular shores of Puerto Galera can enjoy significant savings as Island Water, operated by Shogun Ships Co., Inc., joins the national government’s latest maritime assistance initiative. Under the Lakbay Alalay ng Gobyerno (LAYAG) program, subsidized by the MARINA Service Contracting Program, passengers can avail of reduced fares for a limited period.
The fare rollback is scheduled to run from May 25 to June 07, 2026. The subsidy specifically covers the Batangas to Puerto Galera (v.v.) route for the Fastcraft Tourist Class accommodation, making sea travel more accessible for tourists and residents alike.

Important Eligibility and Booking Policies
The shipping operator has released specific guidelines regarding the MARINA Service Contracting Program (SCP) subsidy to ensure transparency in ticketing:
- Strict No-Refund Policy: Tickets purchased at the regular rate of ₱750 before the May 25 rollout date are not eligible for a refund of the ₱130 price difference, even if the travel date falls within the rollback window.
- Travel Window Validity: To qualify for the ₱620 rate, both the booking and the actual travel must occur between May 25 and June 07, 2026.
- Post-Program Rates: Any travel scheduled for June 08 onwards will not be eligible for the subsidy. Passengers will be required to pay the full fare of ₱750, even if the booking was made during the program period.
