LPA triggers suspension of sea travel across Mindoro, Palawan, and Bicol ports

Maritime operations in several regions have been disrupted as of June 30, 2026, due to adverse weather conditions brought about by a Low Pressure Area (LPA). The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) released an advisory at 6:00 PM confirming the suspension of multiple vessel schedules to prioritize passenger safety.

The PPA clarified that while it does not directly cancel trips, voyages are automatically suspended when the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) issues a “no sail” policy. Additionally, shipping lines may cancel trips in compliance with terms set by MARINA. Passengers are urged to stay informed through official channels and coordinate with their respective shipping operators.

Summary of Cancelled Trips

PMO Mindoro

• Port of San Jose: M/V Bunso Ferry 2 (San Jose to Coron)
• Port of Puerto Galera: Multiple trips to Batangas including PTERIPPUS I (6:00 AM, 11:45 AM, 3:45 PM), PTERIPPUS II (8:15 AM, 2:30 PM), ISLAND BIRI (3:00 PM), and CITY OF BACOLOD (3:15 PM).

PMO Palawan

• Baseport Puerto Princesa: MV Blessed Sea Journey and MV Maria Isabel (Puerto Princesa to Cuyo)

PMO Panay/Guimaras and Batangas

• Port of Culasi: M/V Starlite Stella Maris (Roxas City to Batangas via Sibuyan and Romblon) at 1:00 PM.
• Inbound: M/V Starlite Pioneer (Batangas to Roxas City via Romblon and Sibuyan) at 3:00 PM.
• PMO Batangas: SFI routes serving Roxas, Romblon, Sibuyan, and Culasi.

Bicol and Quezon Regions

• PMO Bicol: Port of Bulan operations for M/B Frea and M/B Sunriser (Bulan, Sorsogon to San Jacinto, Masbate).
• PMO Marinduque/Quezon: Starhorse Shipping Lines Inc. operations from Port of San Andres to San Pascual.
