Tropical Storm Kiyapo triggers sea travel cancellations in Visayas and Bicol

Several sea voyages across the Visayas and Bicol regions have been suspended as of 12:00 PM on July 24, 2026, due to the inclement weather caused by Tropical Storm Kiyapo. The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) issued the advisory following the implementation of “no sail” policies by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and voluntary cancellations by shipping operators to ensure passenger safety. According to the PPA, while the authority does not unilaterally cancel trips, sailings are automatically halted once the PCG issues a policy against navigation. Shipping lines may also cancel scheduled voyages in compliance with the terms of their Certificate of Public Convenience (CPC) issued by the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA).

Affected Routes and Vessels

As of the latest update, the following Port Management Offices (PMO) have reported cancelled trips:

PMO Bohol

• TMO Jagna: Super Shuttle Ferry 28 (Jagna to Balbagon)
• TMO Getafe: Sunriser 2 (Getafe to Cordova)

PMO Masbate

• Montenegro Shipping Lines, Inc.: All fast craft vessels at Masbate Port bound for Pilar, Sorsogon, and vice versa.

PMO Eastern Leyte/Samar

• TMO San Ricardo: MV SanRic Ferry 20 (Benet San Ricardo to Lipata and vice versa)

PMO Western Leyte/Biliran

• TMO-Maasin: MV Cesar Jose of RLS Shipping Lines (Maasin to Limasawa and vice versa)
• TMO-Maasin: MV Ocean Jet 188 of Ocean Fast Ferries, Inc. (Cebu to Maasin and Maasin to Surigao, and vice versa)

PMO Panay/Guimaras

• Port of Sibunag: MV Ron Jayredine II (Port of Sibunag to Pulupandan)
