Commuters traveling between Negros Oriental and Cebu should prepare for adjustments as Maayo Shipping, Inc. announced a comprehensive increase in passenger fares and vehicle rates, alongside a return to its pre-adjustment vessel schedules.

The adjustments, which take effect on November 3, 2026, are attributed to mounting operational pressures. According to the management, the upward adjustments in both passenger and cargo rates are necessary to cushion the impact of the continued upward trend in fuel prices and the recent legislated increases in the minimum wage.

Return to original schedules

Along with the fare adjustments, Maayo Shipping confirmed that its Sibulan–Liloan and Liloan–Sibulan ferry services will revert to their original, pre-pandemic or baseline schedules starting November 3, 2026. The management stated that restoring these regular time slots aims to provide greater accessibility and convenience for frequent travelers and cargo movers.
