Travelers bound for Sorsogon are advised to adjust their itineraries as Montenegro Shipping Lines, Inc. announced the suspension of all fast craft voyages on the Masbate City to Pilar, Sorsogon route scheduled for June 23 to 24, 2026.

The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) Port Management Office in Masbate issued the travel advisory following reports of deteriorating sea conditions. The cancellation is attributed to the combined effects of the enhanced Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) and Typhoon Francisco, which are currently affecting the region.

Hazardous sea conditions reported

In a formal communication to the PPA and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Sub Station Bapor, Montenegro Lines noted that wave heights are expected to reach between 0.7 to 1.0 meter. These conditions are considered hazardous for fast craft navigation and maritime safety.
