In a major step toward digitizing maritime travel, Montenegro Shipping Lines Incorporated has announced that the Online Reservation Assistance System (ORAS) is now a mandatory requirement for all passengers departing from the Batangas Port and Lucena Port.
The directive, issued in compliance with the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), aims to enhance the efficiency of port operations and provide a more seamless experience for the traveling public. Passengers are advised that the system is now live and must be utilized prior to arrival at the terminal.

Pre-arrival requirements
To ensure smooth entry and processing, travelers must scan the designated QR code and complete their online reservation before proceeding to the port. This measure is intended to minimize delays and prevent crowding at the terminal gates.
While the system is required for most, the following groups are currently exempted from using ORAS:
- Passengers with vehicles
- Passengers with existing online tickets
Key benefits for travelers
The transition to the ORAS platform is expected to modernize the local shipping experience by offering several key advantages:
- Faster processing: Digital check-ins reduce the time spent at manual counters.
- Less terminal hassle: A more organized flow of passengers through the terminal.
- Safer travel experience: Better crowd management and streamlined terminal operations.
Authorities remind the public to “Travel Smart” and “Travel Easy” by ensuring all digital reservations are settled in advance. For more information and official updates, passengers may visit the PPA website at www.ppa.com.ph or follow their official social media channels at @portsauthorityph and @ph_ports.
