Montenegro’s newest ship M/V Santa Dorothea now in PH waters

Montenegro Shipping Lines Incorporated has officially received its newest vessel, the M/V Santa Dorothea, as it arrived in Batangas on February 13, 2026. The ship arrived in the Philippines after departing from the Xiamen Anchorage on February 10.

This is another milestone for the company as it continuously adds to its fleet of ROPAX vessels. The M/V Santa Dorothea is part of the company’s expanding fleet of ‘Santa Series’ vessels that are dedicated to passenger and cargo vessels.

The vessel is brand new and is the third ROPAX vessel of the company. The vessel is 72 meters long and 15 meters wide. The vessel is also registered under international vessel standards.

Construction of the vessel started with a cutting ceremony held in December 2024. The vessel was launched in December 2025 and underwent sea trials in January 2026.

During the sea trial held on January 26, the vessel achieved speeds of up to 15.6 knots.

Santa Dorothea is currently the ninth vessel in the Santa Series and the 89th in the company’s fleet. According to the company, the inclusion of the M/V Santa Dorothea has further enhanced the company’s fleet capability and the increasing demand for travel.

The M/V Santa Dorothea was constructed to provide a higher level of comfort and convenience to the passengers. The ship has four suite rooms and a fully air-conditioned bunk section.

For the convenience of the passengers, the M/V Santa Dorothea has been provided with an elevator. A 7-Eleven Canteen has also been incorporated into the ship’s facilities to provide the basic necessities of the passengers during the voyage.
