As mentioned in the notice, over the years, the company has faced prolonged financial difficulties despite its adamant efforts to sustain operations. To which have resulted in serious business losses, which leaves the company unable to continue meeting payroll obligations and operational requirements. It has also noted and acknowledged the significant impact of this heavy decision on the company’s employees and their families and have included the welfare of the employees as a key consideration throughout the decision-making process.
In its show of tribute, Philtranco honored its workforce, crediting its bus drivers, conductors, maintenance workers, and office workers as its backbone. According to the memorandum, Philtranco was more than just a bus company, with its rich legacy of over a century borne on the dedication, professionalism, and service of its workforce.
