Montenegro Shipping Lines, Inc. (MSLI) officially expanded its maritime capacity with the blessing of its newest vessel, MV Santa Dorothea, during a ceremony held on 13 March 2026 at Batangas Port.
The event commenced with a Holy Mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Juan Carlos Coloso. The ceremony was attended by company officials, led by MSLI President Mr. Vicente C. Montenegro Jr., alongside members of the Montenegro family, crew members, and invited guests.
A milestone for the Santa Series
The arrival of MV Santa Dorothea marks a significant achievement for the shipping line, serving as the ninth vessel in the company’s dedicated Santa Series. With this addition, the MSLI fleet now totals 89 vessels, further cementing the firm’s position in the Philippine inter-island transport sector.
According to the company, the vessel was constructed in strict compliance with the standards of the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS). This certification ensures that the ship adheres to globally recognized benchmarks regarding:
