Fast Cat suspends operations on key Visayas-Mindanao routes due to Super Typhoon Inday

Sea travel operator Fast Cat has announced the immediate suspension of its ferry services on several major routes as of July 9, 2026, as the country prepares for the impact of Super Typhoon Inday.
In a travel advisory released today, the shipping company emphasized that the decision was made in the interest of passenger safety. The suspension of maritime operations is a standard precautionary measure during inclement weather to ensure the well-being of both travelers and crew members.
Affected Routes
The following ferry routes are currently suspended until further notice:
- Bulalacao – Caticlan (and vice versa)
- Maasin – Surigao (and vice versa)
According to the operator, the cancellation takes effect immediately. Trips will only resume once weather conditions improve and the proper maritime authorities have cleared the vessels for travel.
Advisory for Passengers
Fast Cat apologized for the inconvenience caused by these weather-related cancellations. Passengers with existing bookings are advised not to proceed to the port and to instead coordinate with the customer service team for rebooking or refund inquiries.
