OceanJet announces trip cancellations due to rising fuel costs for April 8-29 2026
In response to the persistent daily surge in fuel prices, fast-craft operator OceanJet has announced the implementation of a Fuel Contingency Plan. This move, which includes several trip cancellations, is in compliance with MARINA Advisory No. 26-10, Series of 2026.
The service adjustments will affect travelers on major routes in the Visayas region, specifically between Cebu, Tagbilaran, Siquijor, and Dumaguete. The cancellations are scheduled to take effect throughout the month of April.
Cancelled Schedules: April 8 to April 29, 2026
The following trips are suspended starting April 8, 2026:
- Cebu to Tagbilaran: 6:40 PM and 12:20 PM
- Tagbilaran to Cebu: 6:30 PM
- Tagbilaran to Siquijor: 2:40 PM
- Siquijor to Dumaguete: 4:40 PM
- Dumaguete to Siquijor: 5:25 PM
Cancelled Schedules: April 9 to April 29, 2026
Additional cancellations will commence on April 9, 2026, affecting the following routes:
- Siquijor to Dumaguete: 5:00 AM and 4:40 PM
- Dumaguete to Siquijor: 6:20 AM and 5:25 PM
- Siquijor to Tagbilaran: 7:20 AM
- Tagbilaran to Cebu: 10:00 AM
- Cebu to Tagbilaran: 12:20 PM
- Tagbilaran to Siquijor: 2:40 PM
Refund and Rebooking Information
OceanJet has assured affected passengers that they are entitled to a full refund or free rescheduling with no additional charges. Passengers may also be accommodated on the next available trip or an earlier departure, depending on their preference and seat availability.
