SeaCat suspends Cebu–Catbalogan route due to rising fuel prices

SeaCat by VS Grand Ferries has announced the temporary suspension of its Cebu to Catbalogan via Naval (and vice versa) route. In an official advisory released by the ferry operator, the company cited the continued increase in fuel prices as the primary reason for the service halt.
The suspension is effective immediately and will remain in place until further notice. The operator expressed their apologies to the public, stating that the decision was necessary as they navigate challenging operating conditions brought about by rising overhead costs.
Operational routes and schedules
Despite the cancellation of the Catbalogan service, SeaCat confirmed that its Cebu to Calbayog via Naval (and vice versa) trips will continue to operate. Travelers heading to Samar may still book their trips according to the following schedule:
- Route: Cebu ↔ Naval ↔ Calbayog
- Days: Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
