Leading ferry operator OceanJet has announced a temporary adjustment to its fare structure due to the rising costs of fuel. Beginning March 19, 2026, a temporary fuel surcharge will be applied exclusively to Business Class accommodations on the Cebu-Tagbilaran route.
Updated fare details
Travelers booking the Cebu to Tagbilaran route, and vice versa, will see the following fare adjustment effective starting March 19, 2026:
| Route | Class | Fare |
| Cebu – Tagbilaran (v.v.) | Business Class | PHP 1,400 |
OceanJet has emphasized that this measure is temporary. The company stated that the surcharge is subject to change based on future fuel market conditions and operational requirements, with a commitment to remove the adjustment once fuel prices normalize.
In an official statement, the company expressed regret for the inconvenience caused by the price hike, noting that the decision was made after a careful assessment of the consistent daily rise in fuel costs. OceanJet reassured its passengers that it remains dedicated to providing safe and dependable sea travel services while managing its operational costs.
The company advises all passengers to monitor its official Facebook page, visit authorized ticketing offices, or contact their customer service hotlines for the latest updates and inquiries regarding travel requirements and fare changes.
