Island Water cancels Batangas-Abra de Ilog trips on August 25–26 for vessel maintenance

Ferry operator Island Water, a subsidiary of Shogun Ships Co., Inc., has announced the temporary cancellation of its MV Isla Simara trips serving the Batangas to Abra de Ilog route and vice versa. The suspension, scheduled for August 25 to 26, 2026, is due to mandatory preventive maintenance to ensure passenger safety and vessel reliability.

Affected Schedules

Passengers planning to travel on these dates are advised of the following cancelled trips on Tuesday, August 25, 2026:

Resumption of Operations

Regular maritime services are expected to resume on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, starting with the following departure:

Rebooking and Refund Guidelines

Island Water has released official guidelines for affected passengers to facilitate seamless rebooking or refund processing:

  • Standard Bookings: Passengers with confirmed tickets may rebook their journey for the next available schedule by visiting the physical Island Water ticketing counter or by contacting the customer service hotline at 09478912988. Alternatively, affected travelers are eligible for a full refund.
  • Online Bookings: Customers who purchased tickets via online channels must email their refund requests to [email protected]. Please ensure the booking reference number is clearly stated in the email.
  • Agent Bookings: Passengers who secured their tickets through third-party travel agents are advised to contact their respective agents directly to process refunds.

The management of Island Water expressed its apologies for any inconvenience the temporary suspension may cause and thanked the public for their understanding as they conduct essential safety maintenance.
