OceanJet introduces updated baggage policy to improve passenger experience

OceanJet has introduced its revised baggage policy, which became effective on February 6, 2026. According to OceanJet, the revised baggage policy aims to enhance the check-in process for its customers. It also aims to provide its customers with clear guidelines regarding what they are allowed to bring along during their travel. With many of its customers needing to carry luggage for different reasons, including business, vacations, or family visits, OceanJet aims to clear up any confusion for its customers.

The baggage policy for frequent users of the ferry service may sometimes be forgotten until the actual check-in time. With the revised baggage policy, OceanJet aims to provide its customers with clear guidelines regarding what they are allowed to carry along for free, as well as what they will be required to pay extra for. It also provides its customers with safety tips, especially for large luggage.

The new policy also specifies free baggage for different classes of passengers. For Tourist and Open-Air passengers, free baggage is allowed up to 10 kilograms per passenger. All baggage above this amount should be checked in at the terminal. For Business Class passengers, free baggage is allowed up to 20 kilograms, and a trolley bag is allowed to be carried on board as long as it does not exceed 130 cm in total dimensions (length + width + height).

Passengers should always carry their valuables such as mobile phones, laptops, cash, jewels, etc., with them instead of carrying them in checked baggage to avoid loss or damage to their valuables.

In case the luggage is more than the free baggage allowed, the passengers shall be required to pay the excess baggage charges on a kilo basis. The charge for the same may vary depending on the origin and destination of the ferry. For instance, the charge may start from around ₱10/kilo in the case of baggage less than 10 kilos for passengers traveling from Cebu.

It is also worth noting that trolley and collapsible baggage for Tourist and Open-Air passengers who are more than the allowed dimensions must be checked in.

The revised baggage policy of OceanJet also supports the safety aspect. Hazardous baggage and prohibited items are strictly prohibited on board under any circumstances. These may include items such as flammable items or those which may obstruct the emergency exits. By following these rules and regulations, we ensure a safe journey every time on board the vessels of OceanJet.

Travelers who are planning to carry baggage in bulk or are heavy in weight are advised to refer to the details of the revised baggage policy before reaching the port. By doing so, you would be able to avoid any last-minute troubles during the check-in procedure. Proper planning in advance would ensure a comfortable and hassle-free trip on the vessels of OceanJet.

To get the latest information on the baggage policy of OceanJet, passengers are advised to refer to the official website of the company or contact the customer service department before the departure.
