Public utility vehicle (PUV) operators at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) are set to receive a significant financial reprieve as terminal fees will be suspended for a period of three months, effective May 18, 2026.

The initiative, ordered by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. following a recommendation from Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Banoy Lopez, is designed to mitigate the impact of rising fuel costs on the transport sector. It is estimated that the suspension will allow operators to save a collective total of over P5 million during the 90-day implementation period, ensuring higher daily take-home pay for drivers.

Waived terminal fee rates

The suspension applies to various types of public transport utilizing the hub. Below is the breakdown of the fees that will be waived per onboarding:

Vehicle TypeFee per Onboarding (Php)
Provincial Bus100.00
City Bus20.00
UV Express20.00
Modern PUJ10.00
PUJ10.00
Taxi10.00

The DOTr emphasized that this move is part of the Bagong Pilipinas campaign to provide tangible relief to workers in the transport industry. By removing these overhead costs temporarily, the government aims to stabilize the operations of PUV units that serve thousands of commuters daily at the PITX.
